Comes out tonight. I think I've averaged maybe 1 month of WoW per every 2 years since its release, but I've been playing it the last month and a half and been having fun, so I am going to try the new expansion for a couple of months.
Whats new? Well, they always advertise a million new things like they are revolutionizing it or something, but the only things that I think are decent are:
-Demon Hunter: Fun class, insane AoE burst, feels more like HOTS version of Illidan than Warcraft 3 but still fun. Has a fun tanking spec too.
-Mythic+ Dungeons: If you didn't play the last expansion, they introduced things called Mythic dungeons, which let you do the heroic dungeons on a more challenging mode. Mythic+ Dungeons let you get a keystone and do infinitely more difficult dungeons depending on how high you go. i.e. mythic 2, mythic 4, mythic 6, etc. Pretty much copy-pasted from Diablo 3 greater rifts.
-Artifact Weapons: It is a weapon that you get right when the expansion starts that you can level up, like a Legendary weapon on steroids. I hate that they say this is new, it is not new at all. It is just them giving us back our old talent trees and that is it—which is still a good thing. It will take a long time to max out and you can eventually fill out every single slot. You level these up pretty much by doing any sort of quest in the world or dungeon.
-Lucky Upgrades on items: The items you find can war-forge and titan-forge, meaning you can get extremely good, high level items anywhere if you are lucky. I like this change because it means you can play a lot and get good items in ways other than raids (world quests, dungeons, loot boxes).
-World Quests: Basically quests that spawn all day that let you go back into the world and do more stuff. This is probably the biggest reason by far I even want to play the expansion. There is no flying either.
-Legendaries: You can find Legendaries as world drops (kind of). They don't seem that OP but they look fun.
Oh yeah, Illidan I guess is back and the Legion is attacking Azeroth on the broken isles (where the Maeiv Night Elf campaign was in Frozen Throne)
I'm playing a Demon Hunter on Alliance if anyone wants to game some. (Terenas-Hydraxis, not that it matters too much)
