Dash Cams/Video recording in general Camera thread.. haha

So yeah. Mostly about taking videos, and not about professional photo taking(unless we're talking about stop motion or repeated stills in a row n shit.. the important part here is to RECORDING MOTION), but mainly about taking videos and cams etc.

I want some recommendations for current dash cams, both for use in the car as evidence(acting as a 'witness' etc) in case of accidents, and also hopefully for other uses(inc outdoor use), like if i just wanna put some room or corner under surveillance, i can just stick it on the roof in the corner easily n shit yeah? No wires required n shit.. etc. The main question would be about the hardware or software too i guess, and i definitely need one that automatically loops and deletes when it goes over the cap that i set, and starts recording from the start, overwriting the oldest part etc..

But yeah. I heard that they are pretty cheap for the quality they get now, like under 100 for qual+ n shit.. haha

Dunno about that but yeah. What's up with the infra red cameras so far? Why hasn't it become ubiquitous on everyones mobile by now? Now that i think about it, surely it must be the cost? Because yeah. While i agree that there isn't any real use for 'normal plebs' like you and your friends, i'm sure i could find a use for it if i had one..In fact i could find many, but of course most revolve around locating something/someone, and probably at night. Just imagine the future also. The future will be such that you can no longer hide in the dark, and/or will be seen to

Sound is also required, although doesn[t have to be the best, long as video is great, then decent audio will suffice, although it all depends on the usage i guess. Maybe get 2, one primarily for video, and other primarily for audio..

Anyhow, what do you guys recommend? Main thing i want is quality and cost(duh.. haha) Quality can be lower if the price is also lower(or low enough). I'll just as easily buy 2 lower quality than 1 good quality, as long as it gets the job done.. in fact, 2 lower qual ones might work even better since it allows me to see a bigger area with 2.

Anyhow, discuss and recommend away. Links/specs etc would be much appreciated.. along with just general information, since i'm a complete noob when it comes to this, both in terms of hardware and software(ie current hardware industry standards n prices n shit vs current software industry standards/prices)... Thanks.
