First and Foremost, no trolls please, serious replies only. Also no personal attacks on anyone if they come out, i hope mods can actually enforce WCR rules for this thread at least..
I was just listening to this in the shower, and it kinda changed my mind on a lot of things.
Normally, i'm against labels and shit like that, since it's basically pigeonholing yourself/someone, and then later on they have to conform to certain expectations and/or even stop people from changing/growing as they get older, just because the social pressure to conform is too great and they've already proclaimed they are a 'straight man' to all friends/family and no one ever really wants to 'come out' and go against social constructs etc.. which is why i made this thread. Is it restricting our freedom to choose and to do different things without being judged? Should everyone be able to crossdress without being judged and called a tranny? Should every male be able to suck a dick and not be called homo/gay? I think so. But yeah. I've grown up a certain way, and who knows if that's affected my sexual preference or my sense of dress/fashion etc. I know most of you guys are younger than me, so i wanna see what you guys think about this in this 'buzzfeed feminazi' age. As for me personally, i feel the pressure to get married and settle down and procreate.. and i feel like i'm judged negatively and discriminated against since i don't want to do that shit.. so yeah. That's why i'm also against marriage, and married people having lower taxes n being given preference to adopting kids vs single people, etc etc.
Like how Russel in the video above states that it's about 30% of all guys who "he knows" that have had some kind of physical homosexual activity(ie penetration, sucking dick, jerking each other off, or even just a kiss, but he didn't mention kiss in the video, he stopped at jerking off, since kiss would probably be too vague and then you'd have to go into kisses on cheeks and whether thats homo or not etc lol). I didn't really believe that %(and i still don't), but yeah. I then thought back to like ancient greek times and how basically the whole society was homo, and all the most powerful in society were homo, and not just homo, but they were being homo with little kids/boys n shit. Now, i am not going THAT FAR, but why not? It's basically a social construct and no one would admit to finding kids(even if female) attractive even though they do, since admitting you are attracted and wanna fuck some 14 year old who is fully developed and looks 18 will get you on sex offenders registry/list and is also super ILLEGAL(it also ISN'T pedophilia, its ephebophilia). IMO it isn't even 'controversial' imo, since 14 can look like 18 easily these days with makeup n shit. But yeah, that's just for sexuality..
Moving on to gender, which is what i really wanted to ask you guys.
The guy in the video above reckons that no one is born male/female, and that it's all just social construct, since in this day and age, people can take off/add penis or vagina n go through hormone therapy n shit if they wanted to grow tits etc.. and even in terms of voice, some guys have really high pitch voice that's more 'girly' sounding than some girls, who have low ass voices and sound more manly than most men etc.. that was the part that got me thinking. I wanna know what you guys think..
Are we born male/female, or is it not only meaningless and unfair, but actually counterproductive for us as individuals AND AS A SOCIETY to be labelling and making 'dumb' distinctions based on things like 'gender' or 'sexual preferences'?
I'm a 'libertarian' at heart, so i think everyone should just be treated as individual.. but i really wanted to side with Joe and say that a baby born with a dick is a boy, and a baby born with a vag is a girl.. but in this day and age, that's not really fair anymore for people born as a 'boy'(with whatever chromosome and everything else boys normally have), but then doesn't have a dick or cannot produce sperm or some men have tits n shit when they are older, are they not men too because they have tits etc? Some guys cannot grow beard/moustache, are they not men? Some women can grow, are they not women? etc etc. So yeah. I was on Joe's side to start off with, but then that dude kept on talking and i think he won me over in the end. I think we should get rid of labels, and we should just get rid of all gender expectations/divisions in society. IMO it will end up there eventually, probably around the same time that organized religion dies(or a bit after that). And i do look forward to that day when all the conservatives keep dying off and organized religion too.
Now, i really hate buzzfeed and find feminazis/vegans etc some of the most annoying people ever. But i also know that the 'propaganda' videos they put out are watched by fucktons of young kids/girls etc, and they are all seemingly moving more and more towards that viewpoint. I'm basically a dinosaur and a conservative in that sense.. i just wanna see where all of you guys stand on this issue of gender/sex and also on sexual preference.
Should we get rid of all those social constructs/labels, or do we still need them around? Are they doing us good, or are they bad for everyone as an individual? What about society as a whol aswell? Good or bad for it? I'm leaning towards bad. For both society and as individual, but that's because i'm a progressive at heart(and am anti religion, and i think religion is what perpetuates and keeps those values going even though it's 'bad'), even though i'm probably currently 'conservative' when it comes to those things(gender/sex + sexual preference).
I apologize for being all over the place, but yeah. It's a complex topic and i haven't really thought about it till now. Like in depth. I've kinda been purposefully ignoring it since it doesn't bother me and i don't wanna hate on anyone, but in this day and age, i don't think we can keep ignoring it anymore. This video made me think about how it's restricting our freedom and our personal growth as individuals and also as a society.. like maybe i would of been bi sexual if i had been born today and i grew up in this progressive buzzfeed/feminazi world? what else could i of been doing if we weren't so conservative and dominated by organized religions? Like i said, remmeber the ancient greeks. They were fucking little boys n having orgy parties n shit in the senate.. that's why politicians and catholic church has continued the tradition, but only they do it on the down low these days.. or at least used to be on the down low(for catholic church). They preach one thing to us and made it evil basically, and now they are reaping what they sow. lmao
