It's sickening how corrupt the system is, not just big pharma, but also congress itself. They are all bought and paid for, and the DEA itself is also a joke. Trump tried to make Marino drug tzar, but he stepped down from the race just a few days ago for 'some reason'. Guessing it's this report. lol
It's time we stop beating around the bush and tackle the biggest human rights issue of our time(or at least in the western developed world, or at least mainly the US), and decrim all drugs, including weed/heroin. Look to the portugal model, and practice harm minimization and safe use, and yeah. Statistics show that use will drop after decriminalisation, and also less deaths/harm/costs etc etc.
As Colorado and other states have shown, money is also there once legalized.
Just for comparison, in AUS, i dunno anyone on oxycodone or fentanyl, whereas in the US it seems like they are giving them out like candy.. one town of 650 people got like 19 million pills or someshit lol. And not just restricted to opiates, but to Benzo's also! I hear that everyones on valiums and Xanax can be gotten easily.. wheres here in AUS, you cannot get oxycodone and if you do, it's highly regulated. Like my mom who just came out of surgery two days ago(for hernia removal and her dialysis tube removal), they only give her the bare bones minimum strength and only 1 non repeat pack of 10-15 pills.. whereas i hear in the US they give that shit out to anyone who says they have any kind of pain, like just say you have back pain and bang, yo have it. Also Benzos here are treated the same, and i hear in the US it's also easy as candy to get. I hear people talking about having vals like candy, and even the strong as fuck(IMO) Xanax. They treat xanax like we treat vals here it seems.. no wonder the country is all kinds of fucked up, and combine with guns, and yeah. You have recipe for disaster, it's like a ticking time bomb waiting to go off at any second.
But yeah.. the big pharma would probably want to keep their monopoly and influence to themselves, they don't want no mom n pop competing with their current monopoly and ability to peddle influence to congress and even to the whitehouse, since Trump wanted to make him the drug tzar.. wonder why?
Based from that video, it seems like the current direction they are heading is a fucking joke. Yet another secretary/cabinet level dude who is against the very department he is gonna be in charge of. WTF is going on? He's destroying the country and literally killing 64000+ people a year and there's nothing anyone can do about it. They are making money off peoples deaths and hardships and having their lives ruined and locking them up, and all the while laughing all the way to the bank.
Make no mistake though, the DEA is a joke too, weed is still schedule one, and just because a few whistleblowers came out for this one thing(ie opioid distribution crackdown), prohibition is NOT the way to go, and DEA is still supporting prohibition the last time i checked.. imo they have huge conflict of interest in wanting to keep it illegal since if it wasn't, they would be out of a fucking job.
Don't trust what they say, only when the motive/agenda is in OUR interests and not theirs.. And even then, you should do your own research and come to your own conclusions, and not just be spoon fed from the gov what to believe and think/feel about drugs.. like most peoples parents from the old school generation haha. IE from before internet era..
Whats everyones thoughts on this issue, and how would you 'solve this problem'? Or do you even think it's a problem to begin with? And if yes, what do you see as the problem, and how would you tackle it? What do you wanna see happen/changed?
