First and foremost..
Do NOT update your FIREFOX past 52(as in don't get 52 or higher).
It completely disables ALL Java/Flash/Silverlight plugins. Basically FF and i'm guessing W3 n shit are phasing that shit out.. So yeah. It pretty much it breaks half the sites i visit and also breaks half my plugins/addons for those things..

FF 54 is also like twice as slow as it used to be..
As for my other FF addons, i would not recommend using ghostery or ABPlus anymore, since they have both sold out and now sell your data to whoever(pretty damning for a privacy/security company to sell your security away..).
However, the alternatives aren't that good or at least from what i know, i think the main alternative to Ghostery is Ublock Origin, but i've heard that it requires much more effort/knowledge to setup, since ghostery is basically install and forget, and i only ever need to fuck with ghostery when it breaks a site i wanna visit, but usually if it breaks it and i take ghostery off, it reveals like 15-20 different domains all wanting to load some scripts(and won't let you load the video unless you whitelist those domains, but fuck that, i just blacklist that website and never visit it again if it's gonna be like that, which most 'news' websites are these days).
Noscript is still awesome and must have AFAIK, but i could be wrong and they could have sold out too, but from what i've read online they seem to be 'ok' still.
If anyone has anything to add, let me know. Disclaimer: i still use ghostery and ABPlus as of right now, but i will stop using it the next time ii need to fuck with that shit in the future.

Apart from the security addons above, i use tab mix plus so i can manage 40 tabs and it can save tabs, i also use status-4-evar in order to bring back the status bar at the bottom(so when you hover over links, you can see where it wants to take you without actually clicking it or 'copying link' and then pasting it somewhere), and i also use google translate for FF and yeah.
The rest of my addons are for Youtube, Youtube High Definition(auto sets reso and other YT options, like annotations off, auto pause on new YT tab open), and lastly, Youtube Replay(for music etc). I can't believe youtube STILL doesn't fucking have those things after how many fucking years, least of all a fucking repeat video option without having to make account and then put in playlist and then loop playlist(which makes it re download the video/file EACH TIME IT PLAYS.. lmao fuck that shit)
Those are my 'must haves' for browsing with FF these days. What addons you guys use these days or are 'must have' for you guys?
How's chrome these days in terms of addon support? Only reason why i never used chrome was because it didn't have adblockplus/noscript/ghostery, and i found it was slower on my box than FF. But like i said, these days FF 54 eats up fuckloads of my resources, and doesn't seem like they have fixed the 'mem leakage' problem, since chrome you can close it since it opens different processes for each window, unlike FF which just keeps building up and doesn't release the memory back even after you close the tabs. You have to close the whole FF.exe basically, and yeah. With 40 tabs open at once, i don't like to do that, even though i have tabmixplus and can close(but then i'd have to reload those tabs and i cbf, i don't need the memory that bad and i only end FF.exe process once it gets past 2gig mem usage and starts slowing my box to a crawl haha)
