Only like 150~ comments on reddit.. haha.

No one gives a shit it seems, everyone knows 'democracy' is a joke. They've been doing it since like 2012 or before, and only recently SK's former president was impeached for being a stooge of some religious cult leader..

And this is coming off their history of being dictatorship until like the 80s

SEOUL (AFP) -

South Korea's spy agency has admitted that it had engaged in a far-reaching attempt to manipulate voters as it sought to help conservatives win parliamentary and presidential elections.

In-house investigators from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) confirmed that the agency's cyber warfare unit organised and operated up to 30 teams for more than two years in the run-up to the 2012 elections, the agency said in a statement late Thursday.

They hired internet-savvy civilians and sought to sway voter opinions through postings on portals and Twitter.

"The teams were charged with spreading pro-government opinions and suppressing anti-government views, branding them as pro-North Korean forces' attempts to disturb state affairs", it said.
How is this any different from China 50 cent brigade n shit? Oh right, they pretend they are democracy. Oh hang on, CHina also pretends it's democratic in certain ways. Guess it's more like HK then, where they have 'democracy' and freedom of speech, but they also know that the real leaders and people in control are the CCP. But instead of CCP in S.Korea it's their massive conglomerates and other 'social powers'(like the religious leaders/unions all that shit).

The internal probe also found Won ordered the agency to muzzle the press, provide support for pro-government conservative civic groups and put some major opposition politicians under secret surveillance.
Also, SK intelligence was also working alongside US interests and modelled after the CIA. If you think CIA/NSA isn't doing the same shit, i dunno what to tell you. This is the day and age we live in now.. in fact, i think that's the intel agencies number 1 job. To fuck with public opinion/elections worldwide and even domestically. If you think only Nixon did it and it's no longer happening, i dunno what to tell you in this post snowden world.

See how Trumps conversations got 'leaked'? I'm guessing that was the intel agencies. Who else is it? If anyone else is spying and leaking that shit, and it's NOT the intel agencies, then they are obviously inept and failing in their duty, no? No wonder Trump hates them, they are trying their hardest to fuck him over rather than help him

It's probably been happening everywhere since forever, but now in this internet age, we're all seeing it come to light because yeah. Privacy is dead pretty much, and not just for us peons.. but even for those at the top of the food chain.

When you have cameras and audio recorders the size of pins n shit soon, coupled with drone tech and AI the size of bees/insects n shit, it will really be GG and we'll always have to watch what we say.. even outdoors. lmao

We need to reform intel agencies in DEMOCRATIC COUNTRIES, make them be accountable and also be transparent. The concept of democracy cannot survive without it. We have no credibility otherwise, and everyone will just get more and more paranoid and self censor more and more as the tech(like AI) gets better/cheaper/faster etc.

One thing i'll give SK is that after they get busted/outed, they at least have the balls to go protest and oust their leaders and then hopefully 'reform' their intelligence agencies. But we'll see. The US needs to do the same, but even more drastically
